CRIME WATCH ALERT: MARCH 03, 2025
Crafton PD took a few more reports for people attempting to gain entry into vehicles Sunday night into Monday morning. Two males wearing all black were observed by a homeowner on S. Grandview Ave. in the driveway trying the door handles of their vehicles. These vehicles were locked and the males were unsuccessful. They had fled the area prior to police arrival. While checking the area for these males a rear passenger-side door of a vehicle on N. Emily St. was found to be open. It is unknown if anything was stolen. Another resident from N. Linwood Ave. reported that her VW was left unlocked overnight and someone rummaged through it and stole a phone charger from it.
***Hyundai and Kia vehicles seem to be the most targeted that are being stolen. Please take extra steps to secure your vehicle if you own a Hyundai or Kia by placing a steering wheel lock on the steering wheel or using some other type of theft deterrent system. As always, please report any suspicious people or activities to the Crafton Police Department immediately by dialing 911.***
The Crafton Police Department cannot stress it enough to lock your vehicles all of the time and to not leave valuable items inside your vehicle, especially in plain view.
Residents are reminded to ALWAYS lock your vehicles and do NOT leave anything of value in your vehicle. Several neighboring communities have had thefts from vehicles recently along with multiple vehicles stolen.
***LOCK YOUR VEHICLE ALL OF THE TIME***
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLES UNLOCKED OR LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE.
ALWAYS REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY AND/OR PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY TO 911.
