CRIME WATCH ALERT: NOVEMBER 07, 2024

***LOCK YOUR VEHICLES***

The Crafton Police Department took several reports of vehicles that were rummaged through on Barr Ave. and Clearview Ave. It is unknown at the time of the reports if anything was stolen as officers located these vehicles in the early morning hours. The vehicles all appeared to be unlocked and had the glove box and/or center console rummaged through. Additionally, a white Kia Rio that was reported stolen from the City of Pittsburgh was recovered by officers on Clearview Ave. Residents are requested to check their surveillance cameras between the hours of midnight and 5 AM on Wednesday November 7th.

Kia and Hyundai owners are reminded to take extra steps such as using a steering wheel lock to secure your vehicle due to the recent thefts of these types of vehicles which was made popular on social media.
Residents are reminded to ALWAYS lock your vehicles and do NOT leave anything of value in your vehicle. Several neighboring communities have had thefts from vehicles recently along with multiple vehicles stolen.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLES UNLOCKED OR LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE.
ALWAYS REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY AND/OR PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY TO 911.
