Crime Watch Alert: December 13, 2019

The Crafton Police Department took a report on this date of an unknown suspect(s) that attempted to gain access to the bed of a pickup truck that was covered with a tonneau cover on N. Emily St. overnight.  Nothing was reported to have been stolen and no damage was done to the truck or the cover.

Two nights ago on Broadhead Rd. a resident chased a heavy-set white male down the road after discovering that his girlfriend's vehicle had items stolen from it.  A possible suspect has been identified in this incident.  It is unknown if these two incidents are related at this time.

If you have any knowledge of who did this please contact the Crafton PD.  You can always remain anonymous.

Please take the time to secure your vehicles at all times especially this time of year when you are out shopping or storing gifts in your vehicle.  The storing of gifts in your vehicle is not recommended but if you do follow this practice then cover them and place them out of sight in the trunk area, under seats, in storage bins or other cargo areas.

-PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOCK YOUR VEHICLE(S) AND RESIDENCES ALL OF THE TIME.

-RESIDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY UPON OBSERVING A SUSPICIOUS PERSON OR SOMETHING THAT APPEARS TO BE SUSPICIOUS.

-IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING (Please call 911 immediately, not later)

Remember if it seems too good to be true.  It probably is.
