Crime Watch Alert: September 25, 2020
The Crafton Police Department took a report today from a resident who received a phone call from a person who stated that they were from Amazon. The caller requested information from the resident in order to “keep her account active.” Amazon was contacted and reported that this was a scam and that they do not call customers to solicit personal or financial information. Residents are reminded to NOT provide any personal or financial information over the phone or internet from companies that are requesting it. When in doubt hang up the phone no matter what the caller says and contact the police department for assistance. Legitimate companies do not request information in this manner.
