CRIME WATCH REPORT: DECEMBER 2019:

Area 1- Coordinator- Katie Fazio
12-26-19. Four tires on a vehicle were slashed on Promenade St. A person of interest has been developed.
12-28-19. A hit and run occurred in a shared driveway on S. Grandview Ave. in which a dark colored sedan fled the area.

Area 2 – Coordinator-Sandy Gibson
12-17-19. A Lincoln Ave. resident received a scam email requesting that she send $6,000 dollars to the sender in order to receive the grant that she won.
12-23-19. A vehicle parked on Lincoln Ave. was entered overnight. Nothing was reported to have been stolen.

Area 3– Coordinator- Diane McQuaide
12-17-19. One strand of Christmas was cut at a Dinsmore Ave. residence.

Area 4- Coordinator- Amy Buchman (acting)
12-13-19. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain access into the bed of a parked truck with a tonneau cover on it that was parked overnight on N. Emily St.
12-31-19. A vacant property on Warren St. had a rear door kicked in.

Area 5- Coordinator- Mary Fleming
12-13-19. A parked vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle on Alley a.

Area 6- Coordinator- Bill & Janet Finlay Jr.
12-11-19. A white heavyset male suspect was chased by a Broadhead Rd. resident after stealing items from an unlocked vehicle. The suspect managed to get away. Information has been obtained on who the suspect is and the investigation is ongoing.
12-28-19. A tire was slashed on a vehicle parked in an apartment complex in the 100 block of W. Steuben St. Reported on 1-02-20.
12-29-19. A forced entry burglary was reported on Thomas St. in which several long guns were stolen after the suspect kicked in the rear door. A person of interest has been developed and evidence was collected and submitted to the Crime Lab.
12-30-19. A white or light-colored sedan hit and ran an occupied vehicle on W. Crafton Ave. at W. Steuben St.
12-30-19. A parked and unoccupied vehicle was hit and ran near the PNC Bank. Reported on 1-02-20.

Happy New Year!!! Let's make 2020 the safest year for Crafton residents and visitors. Please report any suspicious activity and people immediately by dialing 911. Remember to take preventative measures when having packages delivered and to lock your vehicles and homes. If you have any questions or concerns on how to make your home less appealing to would-be thieves, contact the police department directly at 412-921-2016. Do NOT keep valuables in your vehicle either. PLEASE !!!!!!!
