CRIME WATCH ALERT - SEPTEMBER 1, 2019

The Crafton Police Department was advised by a local building manager that several of their residents have recently received phone calls from people advising them that their social security numbers are under investigation. This is a SCAM phone call. The phone numbers are also being spoofed and show up on caller IDs as "SSA" or "Social Security Administration." The Social Security Administration will NEVER call you and request personal information over the phone. They will send you a letter in the mail, most likely a certified or first class letter . DO NOT EVER give any personal information to anyone over the phone that calls you.

-PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOCK YOUR VEHICLE(S) AND RESIDENCES ALL OF THE TIME.
-RESIDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY UPON OBSERVING A SUSPICIOUS PERSON OR SOMETHING THAT APPEARS TO BE SUSPICIOUS.
-IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING (Please call 911 immediately, not later)
Remember if it seems too good to be true. It probably is.
