Crime Watch Alert - January 1, 2023

On the evening of January 01, 2023 Crafton PD took a couple reports of two males that were ringing doorbells and running away on both S. Emily St. and S. Linwood Ave. The caller showed the responding officers her doorbell camera footage of a tall thin white male wearing a white hooded or zip down sweat shirt, light colored jeans, white shoes, and black ski mask. This male rang the doorbell and immediately ran off the porch toward Ewing Rd. A second male not on camera was described as wearing a red sweatshirt, sweat pants, a black mask, and carrying a phone. Officers were on scene almost immediately and checked the area with negative results. If anyone observed these males or believe that they know who they are is asked to contact the Crafton Police Department. There were no attempts to break into any residences at this time.

Crafton PD is also looking for two people to be crime watch coordinators. If you are interested in being a coordinator, please contact the office at 412-921-2016.

Happy New Year from the Crafton Police Department. Please continue to report suspicious people, vehicles and/or activity immediately by calling 911. If you need assistance from the police department, please do not hesitate to contact 911. There is not always someone at the station to answer your phone call and it may go unanswered for hours if you leave a voice mail. The office is staffed Monday-Friday from 9AM-3PM by an administrative assistant.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLES UNLOCKED OR LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE.

ALWAYS REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY AND/OR PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY TO 911.
