CRIME WATCH ALERT: JULY 26, 2022

UPDATE: 7/26/2022 - Suspect/Actor has been identified and warrant for arrest has been issued. Suspect/Actor charged with numerous crimes.


CRIME WATCH ALERT: JULY 23, 2022

On 7/20/22 the Crafton Police Department was dispatched to the Giant Eagle for a male that was assaulted in the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and were advised by the victim that a black male wearing all black had approached him and assaulted him. The male suffered minor injuries. No weapons were used in the assault and none were seen by the victim. The victim did advise officers that the male that assaulted him had an injury to his hand.

Officers began to search the area. While searching, officers were advised that a male matching the description of the male that was involved in the assault at Giant eagle, had made entry into 106 West Steuben Street. Officers were also advised that the male was aggressively knocking on an apartment door and making threats to the resident. Officers arrived on scene and searched the entire building. The male was not located.

Upon speaking with the resident, it was determined that the male never made entry into the apartment and at no time did the resident see a weapon. It was also determined that the male was able to make entry by randomly pushing the intercom buttons until someone let him in.

Approximately 30 minutes later officers were dispatched to an address on Glenn Street for a male matching the description of the male involved in the other two incidents. Officers arrived on scene and after searching for the male were unable to locate him.

There have been rumors circulating on social media in regards to this series of incidents involving the male suspect. At no time was a firearm used during these incidents. No one was shot and a weapon was never seen by any witness or victim.

This series of incidents are being actively investigated by the Crafton Police Department and attempts are being made to identify the male. Anyone with information about this incident or who can identify this male, are asked to contact the Crafton Police Department.
