CRIME WATCH ALERT: MARCH 09, 2022
The Crafton Police Department took two reports on March 8, 2022 from the 1500 block of Barr Ave. regarding a stolen vehicle and a theft from a vehicle. The stolen items were found and returned a few houses away from where they were stolen. The stolen vehicle was able to be tracked, located and recovered in Penn Hills. The vehicle in which items were stolen from was left unlocked. The stolen vehicle was believed to have been locked however the key and key FOB were left inside of the vehicle. In most all newer vehicles, the vehicle will not remain locked if the key FOB is left inside of the vehicle. Please do not leave your key or key FOB in your vehicle. Crafton PD was also made aware that a couple of vehicles and thefts from vehicles occurred in the city of Pittsburgh near the Crafton border. Please remember to lock your vehicle at all times. If anyone has any surveillance video of possible suspects in the 1500 block of Barr Ave. please contact the Crafton Police Department. The time frame would be from March 7th at 6:00PM through March 8th at 8:30AM. Thank you.
