CRIME WATCH ALERT: MAY 13, 2020

The Crafton Police Department responded to Division St. yesterday evening for a report of a male trying car door handles. The male was later stopped at the fire department and detained. Charges are pending. He was described as a tall black male wearing a red shirt.

This morning property was located in the 1700 block of Barr Ave. and was later learned to have been stolen from a vehicle in the same block. A resident from the 100 block of Union Ave. also reported that her vehicle was rummaged through last night but nothing was reported to have been stolen from it. The resident remembers her dog barking at approximately 1AM last night and seeing lights but did not look out to see what was going on. A McMunn Ave. resident also reported that her vehicle was entered and that loose change was stolen from it. If anyone in these areas has surveillance cameras that may have captured the suspect please contact the Crafton Police Department. None of these vehicles were locked that were entered. It is unknown at this time if the male that was detained and later released was involved in the other thefts.
